Anytime you don't have to to actualy back track but are doing it for fun, there is nothing to challenge you because everything is already dead.Īnd personally Q4's skybox is not bad, considering all the crap the strogg are putting in the atmosphere, and even if it did suck, a skybox is not a deal breaker for me, it's ONE texture. Quake 2 also doesn't regenerate it's eneimys while you go back and forth through the levels, only when a scene requares it. I am a huge fan of Quake 2, but Quake 2 is not as free forming as you might think, sure you could go back to levels and you had 2 alternate routes, but there were no air fights, no strogg bases, just things they took over (well where did they come from?) Also Quake 4 adds more depth to the whole stoggification process.
